Creating systems of meaning designed to win hearts and minds since 2015.

I author brand strategy, grow engagement, and move units for companies across industries. Clients include Docker, National Park Service, Epson, NASCAR, Oregon Wine, Autism Society, Migration Brewing, Umpqua Bank, Amsted Automotive, Chown Hardware, Wyld, Agility Robotics, George Fox University, Ayar Labs, and Oregon Symphony. I’m currently the Creative Director at Dos Caras Spirits.

I value inspiring and delivering work that matters—directing teams of writers, strategists, and developers to craft customer-centric business solutions that are actionable, scalable, and make the world a more curious place.

Before pivoting my career into branding and design, I served on the faculty at Cornell University’s international campus, first as a Lecturer of Writing and then as an Assistant Professor of English. I won three teaching awards during my tenure, and my creative work was recognized with fellowships, artist residencies, and scholarships.

I continue to write and publish literary work. I snowboard in the winter. I boogie board in the summer. I run or lift weights every day. Except for LinkedIn, I’ve never had a social media account. And I try to read at least one physical book every month, primarily essays and poetry.

Native to Portland, I live in a 1920s bungalow in the neighborhood of Rose City Park. Jen and I have two daughters. Hazel is ten. Coral is six. We also have an abnormally enormous Maine Coon we call “Frankie” and a Goldendoodle named “Marvin Blue,” a counter-surfing recidivist we cherish very much.
